The person who you are telling should know everything that the bully is doing and shouldn 't be involved. It could be one of your parents, another relative, siblings, friends, the guidance counselor of your school or any other person whom you trust. This person can also give you helpful advice about what to do. Saying the things that are on your mind, will make you will feel better.
Depending on the situation, you could either ignore the bully and distance yourself from them. Or you stand up to the bully and defend yourself. It depends on the victim 's personality. If you are shy, inhibited, secluded and not self-confident you should avoid them. If you have self-confidence, self-assurance, and are not shy, you defend yourself.
