Hi Dylan,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirit. Based on the discussion that we had yesterday, I understand that you are under stress and have expressed to resign from Hanguk Industries. I am cognizant of the fact that working in a new country and with new people having different cultural perspective can be a very challenging. Firstly, I would like to reaffirm that you are a very valuable employee to HI with great potential and growth prospects. I would be glad if you could reconsider your decision to quit HI.

Hanguk Industries is a fast growing organization. It has grown leaps and bounds in the last few years. I believe the experience that you will gain in the company’s headquarters in South Korea will help you to accelerate your career. Having lived and worked there, I understand the difficulties that new employees face in adjusting to Korean culture especially with regards homosexuality. The attitude towards homosexuality in HI in South Korea is very different than in the Bay Area. Societies in South Korea and many other parts of the world have not accepted homosexuality as it has been accepted in the US.

I believe no organization should discriminate its employees on the basis of sexual orientation. HI has established a global code of conduct to protect diversity of individuals. So, if you feel that at HI, you have been discriminated because of your sexual orientation, the matter should be taken to the HR for further investigation.…
