There are many people in the world that believe anything they see on television, internet, and news. That is why many companies make ads that will attract people so they can buy their product. It is important for people to research on what they are believing because it might be really harmful to them.In George Orwell’s allegoric novel, Animal Farm shows that the animal’s believed in what Squelar told the animals what was the right thing (the media). The message I got from the book is that people have to pay very close atention what ever media they agree with.
The first example that comes up in the story is when commandments (propaganda) gets stuck in a lot of the animals heads.First of all the pigs chose something simple so the animals could remember

To Conform or Not to Conform? Conformity is a life that only leads to unhappiness and a voice that will not be heard. The sheep from Animal Farm chooses to conform through their slogans, while Christopher choose to continue writing a book he was told to discontinue. In the Looney Tunes cartoon “Pigs in Polka”, the three little pigs each show different attributes such as stubbornness, carelessness, and staying focused. For example, the first pig uses hay to build his house in a matter of seconds (“Pigs in Polka”). The first pig’s stubbornness is shown when he uses dry grass to construct his structurally unsafe house quickly, so that he can move on to more fun things. Once the wolf comes around, the first pig realizes his mistake, but it is too late, his house is destroyed without even putting up a fight. In addition, after the first pig completes his house, the second pig uses matches to construct his unsafe dwelling (“Pigs in Polka”).…

In the vast plains of Montana, full of grass as green and bright as an emerald with a few drops of dew after a rainy day, with rolling hills that go on farther than the eye can see and an infinite clear baby blue sky above it all, there was a little red barn. It was old and rustic, completely different from the other cheery and bright cottages in the tiny town of Wicksdale. It’s paint peeled off the walls a little bit more every day. It creaked and groaned with the gusting winds that accompanied the hill it sat on. Nobody ever approached the Johnson barn.…

Straparola’s early version of one of the most iconic fairy tales in “Beauty and the Beast”, offers a comforting message about the existing anxieties and concerns of a woman when subjected to the idea of marriage. Giovan Straparola’s making of the folktale, “The Pig King”, records the historical and cultural context of the tale’s production for his argument to be consistent with the current views and beliefs of the Italian Renaissance. Commercial advertising is a way to persuade viewers to purchase products/services. By making it memorable, the producers are trying to ensure that the message will connect with its audiences. With a limited amount of air time, many companies can end up with a rushed advertisement, which gets misinterpreted. Many times, commercials end up being perceived as exaggerated, cheesy, or occasionally just plain foolish. However, this was not entirely the case with the questionable yet exceedingly popular JC Penney’s holiday adverts from 2008 and 2009.…

This is an image of a famous model, Ashley James, holding a skinned animal out with one arm. The image was created by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which is the largest animal rights organization in the world, boasting over 5 million members and followers. The ad is meant to bring to light how the company, Harvey Nichols, abandoned their decade-long fur-free policy, to increase their revenue and consumers. Harvey Nichols hides behind a marketing ploy called Origin Assured, in which animals are guaranteed humane treatment before they are killed. Propaganda will not be affective if it isn’t for the second major theme, ignorance. Throughout the allegory, the animals lack of knowledge/education is being used by the Pigs. “… ‘No animal shall kill any other animal WITHOUT CAUSE.’ Somehow or other, the last two words had slipped out of the animals' memory…” (61) No matter what the animals believe they remembered or thought they know, the Pigs would make it seem that they where wrong. They play with the animal’s memories, over complicate language or make ideas seem very complex because they know the animals aren’t knowledgeable enough to counter them.…

In today’s society it seems as if the media is starting to take control of people’s ability to think for themselves. There have been multiple cases in which many news broadcasting stations have lied to their viewers in order to spread fear and confuse, when in reality nothing serious had happened. In today’s world there seems to be three reasons in which the media is causing harm in today’s growing society. One particular reason in which the media is causing harm is what many people like to call media bias, which is the practice of how many news journalist decide in which stories to cover and how they want to cover it. After knowing how media bias works, it leads to the second reason in which does the media report fairly and how the news lies…

The pig 's unrivaled intelligence allows them to convince the other animals that certain events did or did not happen to gain leadership on Animal Farm. The first instance where the pigs convince the animals where an event occurred but really did not is when they convince the animals that Snowball betrays them by being in league with farmer Jones. The pigs are only trying to diminish what the animals think of Snowball. "Snowball was in league with Jones from the very start! He was Jones ' secret agent all the time.…

“At the foot of the end wall of the big barn, where the Seven Commandments were written, there lay a ladder broken in two pieces. Squealer, temporarily stunned, was sprawling beside it, and near at the hand there lay a lantern, a paintbrush and an overturned pot of white paint” (Orwell 73). This is to make the pigs seem like they are still abiding by the commandments, when in reality they are exploiting the commandments to suit themselves. They no longer care about Animalism as they cease to benefit from this philosophy. The pigs, who have become the leaders due to their manifest intelligence, have become what they resented from the start.…
