I ended up deciding it wasn’t the best option for me right now, but maybe in the future. Finally, my aunt Debbie said I should try Advertising and Marketing as it does include a lot of creative thinking. This really intrigued my interest. I never thought about it before, but after some thinking I came to realize maybe this would be a great career choice for me. After applying and getting accepted in to course my interest grew more. There were many different options for career paths that came with advertising and marketing. After my first year I really fell in love with idea. Advertising was right up my alley. My passion grew more and more as the year went on. You get to work with groups of other people with the same passion. This is especially relevant when you can work with others to come up with new and creative ideas to advertise a product or company. Something’s can be done individually but in the end everyone has to work together to get the full plan in motion. I think this is what I am looking forward to most. I never knew coming into this course I would actually enjoy it and want to continue with it after the program was done. I know for sure this is something I want to do. With this, my best advice to anyone who wants to join the course is to stick with it. You really don’t know how many different ways advertising and marketing can go. There really is something in it for everyone. Also, if you have done the course and feel like you wont make it in the industry just know everyone starts from the bottom. Unless you are in the right place, at the right time, no one ever makes it into their dream job right out of school. You have to work your way there. I really need to remember this when I search for my future career. I need to start from the bottom and work my way up. In the end it will all be worth it. I also learned that you really need to make sure you make connections and network. My shy personality made it harder to do this and I really wish I took a few more chances to speak up and make those connections when the opportunity came
