Advertisements have been used for attempts of convincing people to buy their products for many years. Sue Jozui, explains that advertisers products should be boycotted and enforce laws along with guidelines. Jozui supports her claim by first explaining the advertisements are misleading by using the celebrities to advertise, she then continues by saying laws should be put in place for advertisers. The authors purpose is to convince the readers in order to create laws that advertisers must follow. The author establishes an objective tone for the buyers. Advertisements should not be restricted from how they want to present their products, they should be allowed to advertise the way they want. Others would say the advertisement should be boycotted, along with new laws for advertisements to be put in place. Sue believes that changes should be made to advertisements, stating that “We should boycott this kind of advertising and legislate rules and guidelines for advertisers”. The quote is pointed towards law makers, advertisers, and buyers, stating that those kind of products should be boycotted and new laws should be made …show more content…
The way they broadcast their products should be free to them to decide. If we were to restrict the way companies and producers try to sell their products by enforcing laws, then the market is no longer a free market. Jozui wants to make something happen that will end up no longer creating a free market, “.. this kind of advertising and legislate rules and guidelines for advertisers”. Free market is the right to set their own prices, and the way they feel is a good way to sell their goods. Legislating new rules will eliminate free market, they can not sell their goods the way they would want to and are also forced to follow laws and guidelines when trying to do so.
