A society has failed in so many ways, particularly as it relates to encouraging women to see their own worth. An individual can allocate them to look to magazines, produced and circulated by men, and set impractical body image goals that not every person can meet. Even doing the adolescent age, the idea of a perfect body is drilled into their head. What was the one thing girls wanted to be when they grow up? A princess. From Disney movies like Cinderella to Frozen, it promotes that girls were suppose to be slender and attractive. And the villains were always unattractive and plump. No matter who a person is, what they do, there is one core quality, one thing a girl can not exist without - prettiness. It has been ingrained in young people’s mind: If an individual is not pretty they are not a person. Ask any fourteen year old girl what she wants the most and she will tell you a boyfriend and a perfect body. Ask any fourteen year old boy what he wants the most and he will tell you a girlfriend with a perfect body. …show more content…
Advertising denotes models and them supporting behind a new drink or new exercise machine “that'll help you get to your goal” of becoming “skinny”. Many advertisers use these models because they are highly appreciated. Advertisements make people feel like they have to look a certain way in order to fit society's absurd beauty standards.
