Essay On Today Is The Day

The clock ticked with the frequency of every clock in the world. Once every second. Sixty ticks a minute. Three thousand six hundred ticks an hour. Eighty-nine thousand three hundred and two times a day. It seemed like it had ticked awfully close to that number of times as I was sitting there staring at the clock. I have been waiting all day for the clock to hit four. It was finally time. I got up from my chair as fast as I could, grabbed my bag and ran out of the school. It was December 11th; today was the day. The old doctor from before came and waved my parents over and asked them to sit outside so I can rest. He rambled on about how my brain is still active and I shouldn’t have distractions. My mom looked confused, but my dad understood and brought her over to where they would sit and wait again. Moments later the doctor calls my parents to come with him so he could explain my injuries more. Although he also explained that I should wake up any moment now. I see the relief in my mom 's eyes. Looking over her shoulder, I can see the anxiousness in my dad 's eyes, along with the temptress in Andy’s. Then the heart rate machine starts speeding up, I can see my eyes opening, and I can feel myself fading. I open my eyes to my mom crying and hugging me. My dad holding her and rubbing my back and Andy, looking into my eyes. Not knowing what happened, I sat up and hugged them all pretty confused. “You are very lucky John,” the doctor walked in. “What happened?” I questioned, looking around. “You were coming home from school and got into an accident due to a rolling stop, you are very lucky.” To check if I was ok, he started taking my pulse. After, he told everyone it was best to let me sleep and take in everything that happened. I looked around the room and the clock reads 5:04am and everyone I loved was within 10ft of me. I start to fall asleep due to whatever the doctor injected me with. My last thought was, dang, am I lucky to be

Scraping your knee on the sidewalk, getting hit hard with the basketball, falling off the monkey bars, these are just a few examples of ways you can get hurt at school. The worst case scenario is you would end up going to the school nurse as a result of an accident. Before first grade, suffering an injury was way out of the norm for me. The only time I got hurt in first grade, I bypassed the school nurse and went straight to the hospital. It was a scalding August afternoon, and I just finished another tiring day of first grade.…

In the words of Ronald Reagan, one of the most respected US Presidents: “Republicans believe that every day is the fourth of July, but the democrats believe that every day is April 15”. This statement made by him implies that he believes that Republican conservatives believe that every day is the 4th of July which is the celebration of our independence, and Democrats believe that every day is tax day, which is a day where the government can come and seize your property. On that note, I am arguing the fact that we need a republican president to serve the next term. This topic is important because it shows the kind of image that the next president should portray and the mark he or she should leave for the next generation. Our last president…

I was on the track team; our team was headed to the next city right outside Seattle for our track meet. A car came from out of nowhere; somehow lost control and found its way wedged under the left side front bumper of the bus. Nevertheless, we did not compete that day. Everyone on the bus had to be checked out by the school’s doctor, Dr. Norris before being released. During my examination, Dr. Norris checked my eyes by shining a pen light to test my pupil’s reaction to the light and their response time, checked my head for bruising or bleeding, neck for rotation issues, arms, legs and feet for mobility, flexibility, contusion and scrapes.…
