Advertisement Analysis: Band Aid Advertising

Improved Essays
This in turn relates to how the Band Aid Brand advertises their Band-Aid Brand Plus Antibiotic product. The makers of the advertisement structure the ad strategically showing a young boy going down the slide, and then showing the overall product at the bottom of slide along with text. As a result of this, the makers of this ad hope that the eyes of plain folks read further, specifically those with children. Advertisers do this on purpose because they know that children are unaware of the effects of a wound being exposed, therefore they have the boy consume most of the advertisement with dirt on his hand and a bandage above. Additionally, the advertisement uses words such as, “simple” “convenient” and ”faster” throughout the text to describe

Each appeal is displayed in an ad, and that appeal works for each one respectively. Many agree that advertisements are giving viewers the wrong idea on the product that’s being sold. The Onion poked fun at the ways in which products are marketed at consumers using satire. The MagnaSoles article references false logos such as pseudoscience as well other nonscientific terms and concepts to advertise their product. The article also uses faulty logic to try and convince readers that MagnaSoles are great products to buy. Through these strategies, The Onion is implying that other products are marketed ridiculously to consumers. Produced in 2007, Cadbury’s Gorilla Advert was a 90 second television and cinema advert, which formed a captivation centre piece for their new marketing campaign. Through the clever use of themes, stereotypes, SFX, style and the impacting use of visual elements, Cadbury have enticed the audience to first hand experience the “glass and a half full of joy.” The sustained use of unconventional methods flow nicely with the stereotypes and overall themes of the advertisement. Preceding the drum solo, the gorilla appears to be imposing and harsh towards the start.…

The crisis relief advertisement centers the focus of attention by displaying a picture of a disabled boy to stir up feelings of guilt and despair in the viewer. The hands are all located at the very edge of the image. This is done in order to emphasize the positioning of the boy. The circular shape of the hands act as a visual perimeter as if encasing the boy inside a pen. The gravity of the image is showcased by the amputated right leg of a young boy who is wrapped in bloody bandages.…

According to the NHS policies and procedures, the key components to creating a good advertising campaign is to make sure that it attracts the right sample population e.g. the most appropriate people for the job, in this case those who have “significant experience in treating and nursing patients” or those who are in senior positions with relevant experience in leading. It is important to advertise the role internally as well as externally via the trust intranet and notice boards because this will attract candidates that are the most suited to the qualities this role possesses (NHS, R&S Policy&Procedure, 2007). When you provide and advertisement to people with the chance to put themselves forward, you generally attract fairly homogenous people/people…

I believe the intended audience for the drowning advertisement is individuals over the age of 21, particularly males. I believe this is the intended audience, because the advertisement discusses how alcohol can lead to drowning and the legal drinking age is individuals over 21. The advertisement also specifically states how most drowning deaths involve males. The overall message being conveyed is to not drink and then try to go swimming as this can result in accidental drowning.…

Advertisements as a Genre Commercial advertisement is a genre directed to all people. Although all commercials fall under the same genre, there are many different techniques the author can take, depending on the purpose of the commercial and the audience that the author wants to reach. For example, an advertiser can take the celebrity approach and have a celebrity appearance in the commercial. This shows the audience that if the company is able to have someone famous represent them, they must be legitimate. Also, it allows people to think they can have the perfect life, just like their favorite role model.…

“Advertisers and political campaigns have been extremely good at making these kinds of appeals…however, emotional appeals do not have to be manipulative; when used effectively and judiciously, they can help you connect with your reader or illustrate the emotional aspects of an issue” (Supporting Ideas 661). This quote relates to the commercial because we see how excited a mother gets when her son has used the “potty” and it sparks a connection between viewer and actress on screen. Then when the mothers’ voice changes and becomes upset because of the spilling of urine, viewers can also connect with it because they know what it is like to have to clean up after children and how mothers become upset or angry when things like this happen. Now, it is safe to assume that everyone has their own method of cleaning. However, because of viewing this commercial, viewers are now persuaded to buy the Clorox Bleach because of the connection from one mother to the next.…
