The song is about a child who is expressing how he is affected by the divorce of his parents. The song is based off of the singer and keyboardist in the band whose parents went through a divorce. The brothers say the splitting of their parents was hard for them and they wish that they would have stayed together for them, or at least thought how that affected them as children. This is what the line. “If you love me don’t let go” refers to in the song. This song connects to Johnny Depp because his parents divorced while he was still a child.
