Adversity Causes Some Men To Break Records

William Arthur Ward once said, “Adversity causes some men to break records; others to break records.” One can relate to this quote and in many different forms of literature, films, and also in real life situations. Like the quote above states, adversity can cause some people to break and others can completely turn their life around. Although there are many different tools to getting through adversity, there are three qualities one can better in themselves to get through that situation. The single-most important quality one needs to get through adversity would be attitude. Scott Hamilton once said,” The only disability in life is a bad attitude”. By reading about Mattie Stepanek, a young boy with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, one can see how his disability did not stop him from having an amazing attitude. In Mattie’s situation, he went from possibly dying to probably dying day-to-day and still mained an extremely positive attitude.
