The enormous white and blue tour bus came rattling up the drive. The wise instructors started boarding us on the bus as if we were cattle being hoarded on a trailer. So, there we sat in a foul-smelling, funky bus with over twenty people, on a boiling day, where I could see the littlest bead of sweat drip off the end of the nose of the person setting beside me. Then we were off, thank goodness, the ride wasn't very long. The ride was as if someone had crash landed a plane on one of the most uneven, knobby and rugged roads. I looked over to my right, toward the most majestic waterfall I had ever seen. It was picture perfect. It was so enchanting that it felt like there should have been rainbows and unicorns all around it. As I boarded my water raft to engage in the river fun, I imagined I could hear a paean coming from the waterfall. It was so mesmerizing and inviting. The raft began to glide over the water with ease and I had prepared myself for the worst. The float starting slipping and sliding out from under me. I could feel the rocks on the bottom of the river and I knew that everything was going to be okay. The rocks were smooth, ripple-less and unbroken. But it was so effortless to get out of that cal m and relaxing water. By now I was ready for this excursion to be over
