Some of the advantages of working collaboratively in an online community are more prominent than others. Asking questions and expressing ideas in writing opens the lines of communication (Garcia & Badia, 2014) allowing the entire group to have questions answered in writing which is beneficial to all parties, as it enables all people in the online community to have a better understanding of the subject at hand. The opinions and the point of view of others in the group facilitate co-constructing (O’Donnell, 2012).

This urged me to be more engaged. I was checking wiki constantly to ensure that our team was building a solid foundation for our presentation. Exploiting this advantage would be making the best of the responsibility I have to my group by taking a dynamic approach to completing our assignment cooperatively (Garcia & Badia, 2014).
