The terms manager as coach are used to refer to a core style of management that shies away from the authoritarian nature that has for long been associated with managers in various organizations. This is a type of management that makes use of various skills such as listening, patience and other interpersonal skills to engage the employees in an organization with the purposes of improving their general performance as well as their productivity. This type of management ensures that the various skills and abilities are imparted in the employees with the overall result being an improvement in their levels of performance. Emphasis is made on acquiring trust for the managers from their employees that enhances the enforcement of change within the organization towards better performances for the organization (Ladyshewsky, 2010). …show more content…
This is a skill that is meant to hold the employees in an organization as very important stakeholders within the organization with much more value being given to the employees rather than the organizational assets and profits as would be the case with many managers in various organizations. A manager as coach develops the art of coaching as they go about their managerial roles in a skill which contrasts with the application of control as well as command by leaders.
