Arriving at a specific show time may be hindered by traffic or personal scheduling conflicts. Movies at home allow viewing to begin at any time and can even be paused or replayed if interruptions occur while a theater’s predetermined movie times are limiting. Interruptions such as talking and cell phone use at the theater can cause a very unenjoyable experience as well. The occasional cough from another movie viewer at the theater may raise concerns such as, “Is that person going to get my family sick?” along with causing a distraction from the show. It may seem more expedient to have a staff serving the family but, ultimately lacks in a personalized touch. Also, treats and drinks offer more variety and are prepared to personal taste when made at home, unlike the restricted options at a theater. The temperature at a theater is also a concern as their thermostat is set to a level that may be too hot or cold for an individual, whereas home temperatures are always set to personal preference and can be adjusted at will. The appeal of the large screens provided by movie theaters may seem like a convincing reason to attend the theater however, most people own flat screen televisions and do not have to struggle to see beyond other people’s heads at home. The level of volume can thwart the decision to go to the theater as people who are hard of hearing or people with sensitive hearing may not appreciate the volume level chosen for them at the theater. Comfort and amenities are always geared toward personal satisfaction at home, unlike the broad spectrum of people a theater must try to cater to. Aspects such as inflexible and dingy seats, the occasional sticky floors, impersonal restrooms and climate control set to a general standard of a theater are factors that convincingly suggests for one to gratify family night by partaking in movies at
