In the early 2012, Sebastian Thrun invented the first Google Self-Driving Car. Some people believe self driving cars are safer than typical cars because of reaction times. While others think hackers could hack the cars which would be very dangerous. Also, taking away the steering wheel would decrease the number of car accidents but some people could be driven away because of how much the self driving cars cost. Traffic accidents are very dangerous and deadly. When there are a lot of people on the road like rush hour, there are more increased risks for crashes. Crashes do not necessarily mean car crashes, they could also mean a car hitting a pedestrian and could cause lives. Reaction times are not quick in your own mind but a computer has a better reaction time because it is not thinking about what it is going to wear the next day or what its plans are that day. “According to the nations Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, 146,133 people were killed in road accidents in 2015, and there were more than half a million reported accidents.” (Wadhwa) Half a million reported accidents is a lot of accidents in 365 days. This is very dangerous because car crashes cause deaths and people are not careful most of the time about how they are driving or how safe they are being. The other side of the argument argues that some people are afraid that hacker will hack self driving cars and make them drive dangerously or lock them and demand for money for the car to be fixed. This could be dangerous because this could cause accidents and deaths but, car programmers are experts at their jobs and can program them right. Hacker can get in a lot of trouble for hacking but, if they hack a car, that is a different story because they can go to jail and will definitely get in a ton of trouble There is a really high chance that that will not happen because of the blocks and new technology coming
