When I decided to move to Canada from Seoul, South Korea in 2009, I was looking for small towns for my family. At that time, I was tired of life in a big city. It was very crowded with people and vehicles, so the air was polluted. Therefore, we moved to Grenfell, Saskatchewan. There was a population of 1,200 in this area in 2009. Now, I live in Wolseley, SK with my husband and two children: a 16-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy. My husband and I run our own motel business since I bought this property in December 2013. There are 800 residents in this town and beautiful heritage all around. This was our second move after settling in Canada. We now live in peace and nature like clear sky, fresh air, wide land, the smell of soil and sounds of singing birds. …show more content…
More opportunities to be exposed to English and Canadian Western culture. We used to live in Asia, so we need to learn this. The first immigrants to Canada were from Europe so English and French are common languages.
2. More time to get together as a family. Most stores close by 7:00 pm, except hotel bars, so families stay home or do activities for children like soccer in summer and hockey in winter.
3. Less competition for running a business. There is usually a monopoly on most kinds of business and their community supports them.
4. Safer for children and less crime. Most residents know each other and all events in town, so if strangers come, they will observe them. Moreover, they keep informed about what it is going on, like a big
