World War 1 has changed the U.S policy and has been divided between isolation and internationalism. Isolationism is the idea of remaining separate from affairs of other groups such as political affairs of other countries. This can refer to things such as alliances, international agreements, and foreign economic commitments. If the United States used this isolationist ideology, we would be only focusing our efforts on bettering our country. Our country has to make decisions that have to do with other nations and these decisions typically are either internationalist and isolationist ideas. Both have benefits and negative factors, but being an internationalist nation will provide the most benefit. It will benefit us by working with other governments and coming to agreements. Working together is better than working alone because of compromise. Isolationism would not be beneficial to our country since we wouldn't be caring about the outside world, and once there is an issue that lands on our shores we wouldn’t be prepared.
