The Armed Forces and Veterans Administration’s shameful treatment of many returning Veterans, who served our country in the Iraqi and Afghanistan conflicts, has prompted me to write to express my outrage According to a NY Times article dated April 16, 2016 titled “Report Finds Sharp Increase in Veterans Denied V.A. Benefits;” the Veterans Administration has denied benefits to six percent of returning veterans in these wars. The reason focuses on the issue that the military charged them with misconduct and gave them “bad paper” discharges. These are less than honorable discharges. The percentage of Marines is ten percent. Consequently, the Department of Veterans Affairs does not consider them veterans and has denied them permanent health care,
