On this earth when a humans acts in a wrong way they are sent to prison. So by saying this, why are animals caged up and forced to have a life where they cannot control what they want to do. Many people say the purpose of zoos, aquariums and circus is to proved endangered animals with a home and a place to reproduce, but is this what it is being used for? Also should is it a fact that even when born in captivity is it still in there nature to be wild. How will animals learn how to survive in the wild if they were born into captivity? It was reported that Tigers and lions have about 18,000 less room then they would in the wild. Also those polar bears have about one million times less space then they would in the wild. Tigers have been reported with up to 4,000 square miles in Siberia, how could a zoo exhibit ever compare to what they had in the wild. This being said how could animals breed in a world were they are limited to whom they can breed with and how could they feel confortable giving birth. Breeding programs make sure that it is certain population but what they do not do is reintroduce animals to the wild. David Hancock who is a zoo director talks on the fact that many of the zoos have no contact with reintroduction programs. He also speaks on the fact that most zoos breed only to keep animals in their exhibits, which will keep their zoo up and running. Also zoos focus on the big animals because they go off what the people want to see and how much revenue they can make. What they fail to understand and should the people is the little creatures that help this earth everyday to keep it up and running. So as they say zoos also helps to teach people about nature and wildlife, why don’t they care about the animals that make up this earth.
