America, the land of opportunity and options. America has always had a two-party system. A two party system is when a political system is dominated by two major parties, such as the Republican and the Democratic party. A two party system aids democracy seeing as it gives the public two options, working to not further divide society, and represents the majority of what America wants. The best thing about a two party system is you either like one of the candidates or you like the other. This is better because the election process is shorter and the time can be equally divided between both candidates. If America were to have more candidates the election process would drag on and the presidential debates would be longer and more complicated.
