Nanocarriers and Nanocarriers Applications to Oncology.

Nanotechnology is a field that has been rapidly growing due to the immense applications it has in different disciplines across the science spectrum, such as engineering, physics, chemistry, and biology, to name a few. Much of this research aims to explore the applications nanotechnology has in human health, specifically in oncology and the ever ending fight to end cancer. In this particular field of study the people that specialize in the research and most of the experimentation are oncology MDs, geneticists, and nanotechnology engineers.

This woman was one of the main scientist responsible for creating and developing the nano-shell technology. Nonetheless it is very important to say that she did not accomplish it alone like any other field of science this field is highly based on mutual collaboration.
One of the biggest advantages this field holds is its ability to work on the microscopic level with extreme precision and success. This ability is one of the many reasons for why today this technology is being used to treat various types of cancer. Researchers believe that the cancer rate will increase in a 38% by 2020 (Lal, Clare, & Halas, 2008). The raise of cancer is due to numerous reason ranging from environmental to genetic causes, this is one of the biggest reasons why scientist dedicated to the field of nanotechnology applications in oncology experience high levels of pressure to develop a solution to the great threat

These are known today as one of the most resistant cancers to anti cancerous drugs. This is a cancer that occurs on the skin. It is also known to be a very dangerous and serious form of cancer. For this reason scientist have search upon ways to minimize the effects of heavy anti-cancer drugs especially with it being the skin such a big target area. Microscopic vesicle like particles called nano-carriers have also been a source of experimentation. Scientist intended to inject anti-cancer drugs into a vesicle that will target a specific cell. The experiment shows that the vesicles like structures were an effective option to treat skin melanomas. In addition to this other scientist such as the already mentioned Dr. Naomi Halas have been looking to develop a technology that utilizes heat conducting metals and infrared light to burn cancerous cells without affecting adjacent cells (Khantamat et al.,
