In this assignment I will be evaluating the partnership of the health and social care about the case of Victoria Climbie. I will be explaining the advantages and the disadvantages between working among the partnerships and the improvement.
The Victoria Climbié case was a disturbing and horrifying. Victoria Climbié is an 8 years old girl who was murder in London, she was tortured and murdered by her guardians (Kouao and Carl Manning) Her death was directed to a public inquiry and created major changes in child protection policies in the UK. During the a few days before her death, Victoria would be suffering abuse at the hands of Carl Manning (Boyfriend of Victoria aunt, Kouao) . This means including the needs and safety of a child is always to be put first, that professionals must try to work with parents to ensure the child safety also children should be always being placed with their own family somewhat than in care if it would put them at a risk of harm to do so. Lord Laming was asked to conduct a review into Victoria's case which caused in 108 suggested the changes being made to since them, safeguarding children regulation. A lot of these recommendations were adopted into the Children Act 2004.In addition, according to the website of communitycare.co.uk, “As a result of this report the government published a green paper entitled “Every Child Matters” and consequently passed the Children Act 2004“. This is because the culture in this context can mean the purposes and the goals of the two or more participants e.g. the critical sector and the local authorities have designed in a partnership called primary care trusts, this is so long as better the care support for the users. In that, the local authorities are focused on the social consequences of the partnership though the acute sector is focused on the short-term health results. This being confusing to the general objective of the partnership.
