Although social media has many advantages, there are quite a lot of disadvantages too. The effects of social media to humans are very obvious when we compare the past generation without social media and current generation. Current generation seems to have more health problems than before. We spent so much time on social media and forget that our health is important too. Nowadays, we seldom exercise or spend time on sports. Most of our free time, we sit in front of our computer or looking at our phone instead doing something which is beneficial to our health. Social media addiction is very common in this era which is the main cause of our health problem.
People who spend a large amount of time on social networking are most likely to have obesity.

People with poor eyesight will have trouble focusing at objects further away. This is because they strain their eyes everyday focus on computer and mobile phone for a long period of time. We should constantly take a short break and look at something about twenty meter away from us to rest our tired eyes whenever we focus on something very intensely. We should also adjust the brightness of the screen so that it is not too bright for our eyes.
Most of the social media addicts have unknowingly develop bad posture like head droop, shoulder slump and back curves. This will damage our body and make us tired easily. Bad posture can also causes poor blood circulation. Therefore, we should be aware of our posture for the sake of our own health.
The following disadvantage of social networking other than health problems is the rumours and false information can be spread quickly over the social media. People tend to believe in social media because of the majority of users spreading the news and information. This may cause unnecessary concern, misunderstanding or even uproar by the people around the world. Most of the rumours and misinformation are created by haters or immature users who wanted to spread something more interesting than the truth. But only few are proved false.
