Major Challenge
HFS file system is not supported by the newer version of the Mac OS. This may bring the stop in the HFS file system.
Future Change
HFS are not used in the current apply operating system because of its limitation. Apple has created the advance version of HFS known as HFS+. It was created to address the inefficient allocation of disk space and to add more improvement than HFS.
UNIX Ext4
UNIX Ext4 is a file system used in LINUX OS. Its stands for Fourth Extended File System. It is an upgrade of ext3. It was created to fix the limitation of ext3. It uses the extent block for allocation of files. UNIX ext4 uses delayed allocation. For instance, when we first write the file using ext4, it does not decide where on disk it will actually go. It waits until the last minutes and then it figures out where on disk it actually goes. This give information about the files like how big the file is.
In LINUX, folders are referred to as directories. It is mostly used file system for LINUX. UNIX Ext4 supports 1 EB file system size.
