Chained dollars is real dollar amount adjusted to the inflation allowing comparison between years, the base year used for this data is 2009 ("Bureau of Economic Analysis", 2016). Connecticut had a GSP of $229,321 million (measured in chained dollars) for the 2015Q1, this means between 2015Q1 and 2016Q1 there was an increase 1,565 million (measured in chained dollars) approximately 0.6824% more in GSP ("Bureau of Economic Analysis", 2016). Percentage is calculated be taking 2016Q1-2015Q1 divided by 2015Q1 multiplied by 100. The industries that contributed the most using 2016Q1 data were real estate and rental and leasing contributing $35,598 million (measured in chain dollars), second most was finance and insurance contributing $27,310 million (measured in chain dollars), third was manufacturing contributing $24,053 million (measured in chain dollars) and fourth was Government $22,924 million (measured in chain dollars) ("Bureau of Economic Analysis", 2016). Colorado had a GSP of $293,171 million for the 2016Q1 (measured in chained dollars) this is $62,285 million (measured in chained dollars) more than Connecticut approximately 126.98% more ("Bureau of Economic Analysis", 2016).
