Advantages & Disadvantages
E- learning has both its risks and benefits. When it comes to the disadvantages that e-learning can bring there are not that many as compared to the benefits that it has. One of the main weaknesses that e-learning can bring is lack of employee motivation. Some employees might lack motivation due to them not being up to speed when it comes to technology. They might prefer a face to face learning style since they feel they get a learning connection. Others might just skim through the modules to get the training completed as fast as possible to be able to get back to work. One very important benefit is that everything is done electronically. Just that simple fact opens the door to many more benefits including reduced cost of training. Companies don’t have to worry about needing printed material or experts onsite to conduct the trainings. It also allows the employees to be able to do their training around their busy work schedule.
