• You have neighbours complaining about the noise or dogs and customers coming and going. It creates a tense relationship – which isn’t nice because this is where you live

• The close association between Work and Home is psychologically annoying. You can never fully escape or leave your work behind you. You’ll have to be disciplined about being able to ‘shut the door behind you’ with respect to your home salon

• You might not be able to get approval from your local authority – eg. your local council or Town Hall. Or there is a ton of paperwork to fill out. Health and safety inspections to contend with. It can be an administrative nightmare – and some councils don’t operate too fast when it comes to paperwork and approvals

• There may be limitations on the allowable signage you can have. So it will be tricky attracting new customers. There are, of course, ways around this. You can always hand out leaflets and put up posters, for example. Provided you groom well, word-of-mouth is your best advertising (you will get recommendations / referrals from happy customers to other dog

At the time, my passion was to become a beautician because I loved the idea of the cosmetology industry, I embellished this major as my only career I’ll ever have.
