Develop E- Learning and blended learning
Part of the role of an Instructional Designer involves identifying, selecting and implementing resources for course training plans which include methods and media analysis, the systematic approach to selecting the correct resources that facilitate learning. These course training plans are used by instructors for external courses. The courses are both theory and practical based with the majority practical, therefore the correct selection of aids is essential so as not to confuse the young learners in the initial stages of their career development.

The use of E-Learning should be seen as a considerable resource to aid teaching rather than dismissed due to a lack of understanding. It does not take over a teacher's role but facilitates learning when the need fits. It is a cost effective long term solution to teaching and an aid that should be considered when course or lesson planning. However an effective evaluation must take place prior to designing any teaching practice, in particular E-Learning design as there are a number of advantages and disadvantages of the resource. Advantages include; cost effective for long term through life costs, the student is able to re-take the same lesson until it is understood; a quiet student often gets more involved in an online environment. Disadvantages include; it is difficult to asses a learners needs, due to the often asynchronous methods of E-Learning it take time for a reply from the online mentor/tutor, it is difficult to identify Plagiarism in an online virtual learning environment, the teacher/student does not have face to face therefore unable to identify body language.
