Cognitive processes such as reconstructive memory is the act of remembering which is influenced by various other cognitive processes including perception, imagination, and beliefs, amongst other cognitive processes. Can our memory be manipulated by misleading questions? We all have been asked questions in our life at some point. One important strength of this study was that the researchers used a fairly small sample population to ensure the validity of the results. Another important strength of the method was the numbering system, which allowed the researcher to match students with their experimental groups for both parts of the experiment, while also preserving anonymity of the subjects. There were also some important weaknesses of the researcher’s methodology as well. Some interesting and related topics of study could include investigating the effects of gender and age group being vulnerable to manipulated external clues, as well as conducting a follow up study after a longer length of time to measure the persistence of false memories. A possible way that this could’ve been done defiantly is to have the participants observe a real life car accident, rather than a video clip about it. Some factors of this experiment that could have been controlled but weren’t, was the fact that the lunch bell ring. This meant that the participants could have rushed through the experiment in order to give themselves free time. Perhaps if the time and place were changed, this may have affected the ending results of this
