Nearly all working parents face the challenge of finding safe and appropriate childcare for their children while they work. Employers offering direct child care benefits report positive impacts of child care programs on their workers’ performance, as well as reductions in turnover, absenteeism, and recruitment costs. In addition, a large percent-age of the potential benefits to employers consists of savings in wage costs. In reality, most companies do not have onsite centers or nurseries in Kenya. In addition, unfortunately many unions do not see childcare as an important issue and so it is often not included in bargaining agreement, however it needs to be realized that, companies can save millions by creating onsite child care centers not only for their workers but generate millions into the organization because now you will have an effective and motivated workforce
