Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ambulances

Improved Essays
Sometimes drivers fail to give way to ambulances. We live in a developing country where everyone is too busy to think about others. One of the main reasons is that people are being pressurized from every direction: from schools, workplaces, homes and also the personal goal of living up to one’s ideals. While we think of arriving at a party in time as a perfect behavior, we forget that facilitating an ambulance instead of rushing past it can save someone’s life which must be a part of our ideals. We should strive to overbear the selfishness that is prevailing in our society. Another reason is that our society values money more than anything. It is observed that if a regulator is not present, people are likely to disobey the rules. Since traffic police are regulators on road, their presence on roads is very important. These regulators are very few as compared to the staggering number of vehicles. Everyday 3.5 million vehicles are ‘regulated by a mere 3,200 traffic officials’ in Karachi (Imran Ayub). The police recruitment system needs to be improved since ‘there is no separate recruitment system for the traffic police’ (Imran Ayub). Ambulances are usually given exemption from certain traffic regulations in case of emergency. But if the regulators are not present, other motorists may start flouting the rules or even hinder the ambulances which, as we know, can put human lives in danger. In such situations, collisions with ambulance or other motors can occur, putting even more people in danger. Recruitment system for traffic police, therefore, needs to be established to put more officials on road for everyone’s …show more content…
It is government’s responsibility to facilitate ambulances and solve the problems ambulances and paramedics face every day. First of all, government should improve infrastructure of our country. According to Gallup Pakistan, the increase in length of the roads has been 5%, over the last 16 years of Pakistan. To ease ambulances, this is something the state needs to work on. Another problem that should be solved by government is of the huge increase in the number of motor vehicles. Also, rules regarding facilitating the ambulances should be devised and system for recruiting traffic officials should be established. Finally, the state should create clear traffic rules, and motorists who flout them should be fined heavily. Helping ambulances will not be an easy task without the involvement of the

Los Angeles has the reputation of having the worst traffic in the world, and of course, everyone would spend more time tapping brakes on freeways if it was Thanksgiving. The picture of the jammed 405 Freeway depicts the Thanksgiving rush in Los Angeles well, and people make fun by saying that the freeway 405 has the name because “it takes you '4 o' 5' hours to get anywhere.” () Driving on Freeway 405 is infuriating not only because drivers have to drive slowly, but also because when everyone wanted to get back home as soon as possible, some people would change lanes, and lead to car accidents. In addition, since families want everyone to be back home around dinner time, they can get mad at a member who arrives late and claims that he or she could leave from work earlier. Yes, having to drive slowly is annoying, but what really touches people’s nerves is that people act upon their interests without trying to understand each other.…
