Almost every few months, a person ends up catching some type of cold or flu. During the summer, some get rashes and get crazy eye viruses. Either way, people at some point in their lives need some type of medical attention, or need to at least have some medical knowledge in emergency situations. When it comes to Physician Assistants, they’re lives consist of helping others who are not well. There are also Physician Assistants who help people that need attention on their skin known as Dermatology PA’s. In the everyday life of a PA, they meet with patients at either doctors’ offices or hospitals, write prescriptions, and give medical advice to their patients on an everyday basis. Overall, they do exactly what Doctors do but not as intensely. …show more content…
This is a great group that helps people with mental and substance abuse. Although this is just a number for people to call when they need help, that is not all it is. This helpline offers the appropriate referrals to help people get into the right intake centers in their states. This service is available 24/7, which gives people the flexibility to call whenever they are free without any excuses. All of the calls on this helpline are also confidential, which help people feel more comfortable when they call since there are no personal questions asked. The amount of calls received for this Helpline has been increasing every year, being over 500,000 in 2015. This shows that people feel a lot more comfortable calling this line rather than going straight to a clinic to get help. The Helpline is free and they offer answers to questions that people might have about substance abuse. Their angle within the discipline is from a counseling perspective. Getting involved in the medical field as mentioned before, writing done in this field of study requires a lot more evidence to support an idea or opinion about something. When it comes to drugs for example, an organization such as the “Office of National Drug Control Policy,” an organization, would be a great example of writing in my discipline since it is current. This organization talks about better or rather relax patient facilities and drug addiction treatments, that allow doctors to help patients with each case individually. They also have organizations that spread out throughout the country. This group is run by the United States government that help reduce different drug uses, along with helping the Opioid crises. This organization in their article talks about the different budget requests needed to fund the drug crises in America today. This information is explained on the white house government website, which shows the credibility.
