World War II was considered to be the deadliest and biggest war in the history of this universe. An estimate thirty-eight to eighty million military and civilians deaths occurred. This war gave military major outbreaks for new technology, as well as programs for outer space exploration, and civil and women's rights movement in the US. Some of the newly developed technologies were the aircraft carriers, mines, anti-tanks/aircraft weapons and grenades. At the end of the war, it also showed the world the Soviet Union (Russia) and the United States of America

World War II began with Germany invading Poland in 1939, but it ended, after six years of fighting, in 1945. There were more than 30 countries involved in this war out of the 52 countries

The smoke grenade was first invented and when used first in WW2 it spread a cloud of phosphorus about 25 yards in diameter. (4) The improvement if the frag grenade made it more lethal and much larger. Instead of filling it with TNT in the past, it started to be filled with black powder. (4) Mines could both be used for water or land. Landmines were used more frequently in World War II than any other war before. (4) There were landmines made of glass so they wouldn’t be detected. Newly designed aircraft carriers were equipped with greater range and a heavier striking power. Due to time constraints in producing new ships, older ships were being retrofitted with newly designed components. (6) The major advancement in naval is the aircraft carrier. It allowed planes to launch from anywhere on the ocean. It also acted like a gas station to planes too. (8) An Anti-naval weapon could be mined in the water when making contact they would explode in the water. Some are even found today still vulnerable to explode.

Others things besides military related things were improved during this war. Communication was a major advancement. There was a machine called an Enigma Machine the coded and decoded secret codes of the enemies. (8) Propaganda was also used more than normal to mislead the people of their ideas of the war. It was distributed by radio, motion pictures, and microphones. (8) Women's rights were a major opportunity to improve during the war. They had to take the men's job while they were away for war.
