In the time from WWI to WWII advancements in technology changed the nature of warfare. The impact of advancements in technology during the two world wars included tanks having more lethal weaponry, aeroplanes having better radar systems, explosives, weaponry and heavy artillery having better accuracy and distance. Major advancements in the technology of weaponry and transport where not made until the end of WWI.

In WWI the first tanks appeared at the battle of Flers-Courcelette in September 1916. These tanks that had been made were very unreliable. This was because they used to breakdown in the middle of the battlefield. They did a great deal to end trench warfare and bring back some mobility to the battlefield in WWI. They had a top speed
