Advanced Strategic Planning: A 21st Century Model for Church and Ministry Leaders, is a practical book written by Aubrey Malphurs (2013), written to all leaders and inspiring leaders. This book is not just another strategic book on how to develop your skills on planning; however, it is one that is challenging leaders to seek God, so that God will help them develop a strategic plan to enhance the local church. He provides some vital details for developing a strategic plan for the church, and he points out the significance of leading a church through a shift in direction.
Furthermore, there are a lot of churches that are planted. However, there is between 80 and 85 percent of churches in North America have either plateaued or are on the decline (Malphurs, 2013, p. 8). It vital for leaders to take a step back and analyze what is causing this downfall.
