Since the nursing profession began there has been a see-saw effect with the acceptance from the physicians/providers on what procedures could and could not be done by nurses. With the increase in the number of advanced practice nursing it is imperative that we utilize their role to the fullest potential unless we are ready to go back in progress instead of forward. An example of this situation is the uproar with the push to allow advance practice nurses to provide advanced type care to the veterans.
