Indeed, while the advanced practice nurses scope of practice differ from state to state with state practice and licensure laws restriction in the ability of the nurse practitioner to engage in at minimum one component of the NP practice, no restrictive practice differences indicated by the certifying body (American Association of Nurse Practitioners, 2015). According to American Association of Nurse Practitioners (2015), the APNs can practice in the clinics, hospitals, physician offices, home health agencies, schools, communities, long-term care facilities and other health care settings. According to Stanick-Hutt et al., (2013); Newhouse et al., (2011), the responsibility of the APRN has existed for about fifty years now, and arrays of research analysis have validated their safety and effectiveness practice for community at large nonetheless, the APRN function ability remains limited by state regulations. …show more content…
The state of Georgia is among the restrictive states with protocol agreement, the state of Alabama, South Carolina, and Texas also limit the services that the APNs are legitimately permitted, at times lessening patient access to medical healthcare while states like Washington and Maine allow APNs more liberal scope of practice without limitations (Buppert, 2018; Kuo, Loresto, Round, & Goodwin,
