This bulletin board is entitled “College 101.” The residents learned what to do and what not to do in college. Aversive taste treatments are treatments that are given to the addicted individual to try to simulate a bad experience with the substance. It works by creating a unwanted or undesirable feeling when the person begins to start a unneeded behavior such as drinking alcohol. One method is Nausea Aversion Therapy Treatment which gives the alcoholic a case of extreme nausea when drinking alcohol though some of it is medically induced which is overt sanitization which relies on a drug that has been used to help treat alcohol since the 1950’s called Antabuse with its generic name being disulfiram. When I took the IAT test, I did not receive the results I expected. My IAT results resemble that I moderately to strongly favor whites over African Americans. I decided to retake the IAT test because I was so astonished by my results the first time through. When my field placement is due to start I will be a full-time employee. My hope is to cut back to .75 time. This will allow me to pay bills but also accomplish my internship. If I need to cut back to .50 time then I shall but it wouldn't be ideal, as I would need to reexamine my household budget. I am finding that ending this placement is a bittersweet experience. Times of transition like this cause me to reflect on what I have learned and how it will impact me in the future. Firstly, it has been very nice to make some connections in Richmond and Greater Vancouver more generally because I am not from here. I had the chance to get to know my supervisors quite well and feel extremely lucky to have had so much support.
