My studying Access to Higher Eduction Nursing and Midwifery was influenced by my interest in undertaking study in an undergraduate Nursing degree; to equip me for a successful career in adult nursing. The reason why I want to be a nurse was from my personal experience when I was young and helpless. Learning new and more material will be a benefit to me greatly working towards my career of choice, I will get a mature understanding of what's actually adult nursing and find out more about the role of an adult nurse. I would like the opportunity to develop and gain knowledge and understanding it more technically on the practical side.
Studying this course was a great fascinating experience, talking about the biological side knowing a lot about the human body and knowing about different diseases we hear about day to day, their cure. I am a very ambitious and also enthusiastic individual who has always enjoyed science from a young age and found it interesting. This is because I admired it and it made me curious all the time trying to find out how everything works, how come we all have hearts or why we have lungs. …show more content…
I have undertaken a get into health programme; have done short training with Prince’s Trust for health and social care, during the summer holidays. I did my Emergency First Aid training together with my health and safety at Colchester institute it helped understand somethings I did not have knowledge in when it comes to health care and got my certificates after. I already had experience in child care and it partly helped me when I was on my work placement with assisting the residence. During this period I gained some skills like; being patient, good listening, communication skills, Time management, good problem solving and learnt to adapt to different
