Adult Learning Program Analysis

Unfortunately my connection was lost when I submitted this originally and I did not save a draft. So, here we go again. To me, the statement that this program requires students to take active responsibility for their own learning means that each student can attain a base education through this program. However, it does not mean that this program will teach you every aspect of what you may need to know in the future. Each student is responsible for taking this course as a guide, and expanding upon it to the best of their abilities. Discussion boards and quizzes will lead the way, but some learn best by practice, some by studying, and some by observing. It is up to the student to invest themselves in their own education. My journey led me to LINCS, a learning platform funded by the US Department of Education. Within this program, they have a program called TEAL, which deals with adult literacy. Within this platform is a variety of information, including an article on adult learning theory. The introductory paragraph of this article already sums up how students will need to take the responsibility mentioned before. It states "There is no single theory of learning that can be applied to all adults" (Corley). I encourage other students to view this article as it contains many references to studies and practices for adult learning. Regardless, if no single theory of learning can work for everyone, then no single course will work for everyone - at least, no the same way.
