Global social problems are problems that affects macro level versus micro level. Adult illiteracy is adults over a specific age who can not read or writing effecting basic everyday life skills. There are different levels of literacy. Literacy gives individual the ability to understanding meaning, which is applied in life. Today, meaning changes related to technology and economics. Therefore, adult illiteracy should be evaluated for the impact to society and in society related to issues of crime, health, and poverty because prevention could be a key in resolving a adult illiteracy social crisis. Also, issues of crime, maladjustment of health, and poverty have been defined as a social problem. These social problem could be related to adult illiteracy. If so, adult illiteracy requires global awareness and interest in society to resolves.
