Providence: An Adult Foster Care Community
Providence is an adult foster care home inspired by God. Through His leading and instruction, we have the power to sustain and guide human destiny. We are a locally based home serving ten to twelve adults, where we provide a safe, stable, and fun environment for our residents to live in and thrive.
Our mission is derived from the bible. In Matthew 25:45 Jesus said, “And the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” (NLT). We strive to live this scripture by working together to benefit each other, while serving “the least of these".

Many of our developmentally disabled individuals experience difficulty in social settings. This can prevent them from living independently, and from being successful in work environments (Hall, 2000, p. 301). Providence instructs its employees to train its residents in these necessary social skills, through both group training and one-on-one activities.
Here at Providence, we value God working in us and through us. Galatians 5:13 commands us to serve one another in love. This includes everyone; not just those that are easy to love. Love is an action, as outlined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. It calls for us to be patient and kind, and not to be rude, grouchy, or demand for things to be done in our own way. Love never gives up, and neither do we, the employees at Providence. We strive to treat our residents with this at the forefront of our minds, but we also want to treat each other in this manner; with dignity, integrity, and respect.
We value God’s direction in our life, and the lives of our residents. Our focus on His word helps to direct our ethical decision making. We prioritize holiness, justice, and love. We exhibit holiness by humbly making God our focus, and being accountable to Him. We ensure justice by clearly defining our rules and expectations. We display His love when we follow His word to love Him and love one
