Various analyses have shown a strong connection between an adult’s critical thinking and decision-making skills. These proficiencies will increase the likelihood the adult will make sound decisions now and in the future. The author’s use of two approaches to adult learning are critical thinking and decision-making. Although there are many facets of critical thinking, Moore (2010) states, “Adults will learn more effectively if the subject matter is meaningful to them and relevant to their goals, they keep their goals and objectives in mind, and possess a deep inner desire to learn,” therefore, these methods are practical and achievable.
