Summary:
1
Talks about Billy, Bobby, Dale, Sully, and Bugsby, the crew on Adrea Grail, one of the biggest money making fishing boats. A big part of chapter 1 is another crew on a different boat found a bottle with a note in it at Georges Bank, and came from the Falcon, which dissapeared a year before, foreshowdowing what could happen later in the book to Andrea Grail. The rest of the chapter talks about how dangerous Georges bank is and how unpredictable the ocean is.

The crew comes back from a month at sea, and they have to go again in a week. the chapter shows how stressed the crew and their girlfriends/wives are because they always worry whether they’ll come back or not. Though fishing is dangerous for then, if they’re successful, they make pretty decent money, which they spend on alcohol at the Crow’s Nest bar after they came back. The rest of the chapter talks about the lives of other fishermen and their stories if them in danger at sea. Also shows the crew getting stocked up on supplies like ice, food, bait ext. for the next month at Sea.

The crew says their goodbyes to their loved ones, they sailed for a few days before they reached their spot. after a week the fishing wasn’t very good, so the captain changed the boat direction West, which is off the fishing charts and maps. The weather gets pretty bad …show more content…
Hurricane Grace combined with a cold front that came off of a current, and later on combines with another storm, Which creates a HUGE storm that the Meteorologists to be “The perfect storm”. This chapter talks about a different boat being caught in this huge storn, and how they tried to send out a SOS signal with a 2 mile radius to any other boats. They send rescue planes to save the crew, except for the captain who staus with the boat because “a captain shouldn’t leave his boat”. But the coast guard forces him off and saves the him and the whole
