The Incident Adolf Hitler became leader of Nazi Germany in 1934. His policies initiated World War II and the Holocaust. Hitler believed that the Germany Army should fight in wars for land to allow his people to settle on. He invaded Poland, which started World War II. He started the Holocaust, which resulted in the death of six million Jews. Hitler and the Nazis were responsible for 11 to 14 million deaths. The deaths of these innocent people took place in concentration and extermination camps. Hitler singled out the people he wanted in these camps. None of them were going to come out of the camps alive.
Family Background Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, in Braunau am Inn. His mother was Klara Polzl and his father was Alois Hitler. He was the fourth of six children. Adolf enjoyed art, he wanted to pursue a career in art. His father did not like that choice of his and fought with him about it. When school became a challenge for him Hitler stopped trying. After his father passed away, his mother allowed him to drop out. He then moved to Vienna to pursue a career in art. He was rejected twice from the Academy of Fine Arts. After he ran out of money he joined the German Army.
Social Environment Adolf Hitler took control of the German Army in 1933. He became one of the most powerful dictators of the 20th century. He set up camps killing millions of people. He picked certain groups and certain kinds of people to put into the camps to get executed. When the Allies started closing in on Germany, Hitler began to believe that Germany had lost the War. He played a major role in the holocaust as he was the key person on why people turned against their beliefs and principles to follow the NAZI Ideology.
