Eventually this image was shattered by initiating an attack on Poland and starting World War II and in its wake left behind an impoverished Germany. In his years as leader he was known for his powerful speeches, persuading people with emotion and made himself seen as representative of the general public. This was one of his many propaganda techniques which allowed him to stay in power and convince others to follow the same beliefs he did. He also promoted a false Germany, putting a “pause” on Jew baiting”, “forcing an absence of the coverage on the rigorous application of the Nuremberg laws”, and “pause” also applied to the African-Americans”(Kruger 37) in the 1936 Olympics. He did not want other countries knowing of the racism and injustice occurring in Germany so he used propaganda to “leave” it out and get other countries to participate in the Olympics.
