The Holocaust was a point in time which included mass genocide of Jewish Europeans and other people Germany felt should be extinguished. The tragedy was also given the title “shoah”, which is Hebrew for the phrase “the catastrophe”; however, the term “Holocaust” was used more often to describe the events that took place. This paper will cover three topics: Who was Adolf Hitler, what was the Holocaust, and the statistics of the tragic events. The Holocaust had its beginning in 1933, when the concentration camps were first assembled and built through the guidance of Adolf Hitler. These methods involved the use of gas chambers to exhume hundreds of people at a time, mass shootings, and further means of mass genocide. During this process, over six-million Jewish Europeans were brutally murdered throughout the time span of World War II. Executions were also performed on other individuals that were deemed worthless or not worthy such as: gypsies, homosexuals, and other civilians. Any people who did not fit the Nazi’s stereotypical image (blond hair, blue eyes) was viewed differently and as if they weren’t even human. As many as 12,000 Jewish folks were mutilated each and every day under the rule of Hitler and his followers. It has been said that Hitler is the harshest dictator to ever walk on this planet due to the fact that he took command in such a catastrophe with pride and ignorance. No one living in Germany and its surrounding countries was safe during this period, and everyone feared the Nazis. The “death camps” that were used by the Nazis lasted all the way until the very end and eventually were torn apart and destroyed after the death of Adolf Hitler, who committed suicide on April 30th,
