Adolf Hitler Adolf Hitler was a military leader and a fascist dictator of Germany. He is the reason World War 2 was fought. He was born on April 20, 1889 in Austria. He despised Austrian rule and became a strong nationalist. Hitler set the holocaust into motion considering the Jewish race inferior. He was chancellor of Germany from 1934-1945 acting as a dictator for a large majority of that time. Hitler had joined the Nazi party in Germany. By the year 1933, the Nazi party had a large portion of Germans’ votes. In order to change the Weimer Republic into the one party dictatorship he wanted, Hitler and his other Nazi politicians passed the Enabling Act. It was a mistake that he fought for the Bavarian army, he should have been sent back to Austria where he was a citizen. He was a dispatch runner for the Bavarian infantry reserve regiment 16 on the western front at France and Belgium. He was not at all in harms way considering that he spent nearly half of his days at headquarters well behind the front lines. He fought in the First battle of Ypres, the battle of Somme, the battle of Arras, and the battle of Passchendaele. He received a nice little wound at the battle of Somme. An artillery shell exploded in the dispatch runner tent and a piece of shrapnel hit him in the thigh. He was awarded the iron cross first and second class for bravery, and the black wound badge. He was blinded for a short time in a mustard gas attack. It was in the hospital where he was told that Germany had been defeated. His officers gave him credit for being overly brave during battles and he descried his time in the army as, “the greatest of all experiences.” His time in the military and his bravery helped him win over lots and lots of Germans when he was later running with the Nazi …show more content…
Hitler wanted to have the sudetelnand in Checkoslavakia. He was wanting to take it with violence in order to start the war he wanted. Instead, He was handed the land at the Munich conference. There was a totally different reaction between the Prime Minister of England and Adolf. Adolf was totally upset because he missed his opportunity to start the war he wanted. Neiville Chamberland, however, was very proud of himself. He went back to England proclaiming that he had gotten Peace for his time. He thought he had put an end to the threats from Germany. Little did he know that Hitler would strike again. In 1939, Hitler made economic offensives and put more and more money into buying more raw materials. The materials he wanted were items such as High grade iron for tanks and planes and other metals to make his military bigger, better, and more capable than any other military out there.
