Throughout history, there are leaders that led in a positive light and those that led in a negative light. Leaders are defined by their ability to organize a group to work towards a common goal, the need to right a wrong or protect people, and their ability to formulate and act out a plan. Adolf Hitler motivated an entire country to risk their lives and go to war by feeding off their fears and evoking powerful emotion through his speeches. He created so much damage mentally and physically that the world fears another Hitler-like leader and often compares current world leaders to Hitler. At its height, the Nazi army grew to 4,500,000 soldiers in 1934. To understand how Hitler came to his ideas and motivated a country to follow him, we …show more content…
Adolf did well in primary school, but did very poorly during secondary school, even getting held back. Adolf wanted to study art, but his dad wouldn’t allow it. His dad wanted him to attend a technical school to become a civil servant. This caused Adolf’s hatred towards his father to grow even stronger. In an act of rebellion, Adolf chose to support Germany, pulling away from his father’s beloved Austria. Adolf showed his patriotism by using the German greeting, “Heil,” and by singing the German anthem. Adolf’s father died in January, 1903. After his father’s death, Adolf continued school, but he did so poorly that he was asked to leave. Adolf Hitler moved to Vienna, Austria, at age 18 to follow his dream and apply to art school. He was rejected by the Vienna Academy of Art and School of Architecture and passed his time reading anything he could get his hands on, such as German newspapers, political pamphlets, and works by German philosophers. He became interested in politics and started noticing how people responded to specific themes. On December 21, 1907, Klara Hitler died, and Hitler was alone. He continued to apply
