Imagine walking across a crowded area alone, where people are cheerfully chatting with others. Being alone is like going through that crowded area while being inside a soundproof glass box that other people can not see it but the person inside can hear and see them perfectly. Many adolescents are afraid of being one in high school. Being alone is now commonly being outdated and unacceptable among high schoolers. Being lonely occur less and less in high school, a place where many students are socially pressure to try and fit in and not be socially awkward or unaccepted. It is mostly demonstrated by the media that most people who enjoy being alone are thought to be mentally unstable, unlikeable, depressed, weird and so forth. There are not so many positive emotions or connections that are associated with being alone; as a result in giving the impression that being alone isn 't common or normal to be. For example, in the movie Speak, the main protagonist is bullied because she does not associate with other adolescents in her high school. Throughout the whole entire movie, no one tried to communicate with her. Instead they talked behind her back about how uncommonly weird the protagonist was for not interacting with anyone. Likewise, in Mean Girls, they had a group that consisted with three who were popular among their peers in high school. Whatever or whomever they didn 't or did like, the whole entire school would have the same interest and disinterest as they did. They even show how these girls didn 't really like people who were outcasts or alone, like the main character’s friends.
